Overview
Redesigned the online experience of a Red Light Therapy equipment store suffering significant drop-off, particularly on product pages.
Challenge
An information gap: complex product configurations, multiple versions, and hard-to-assess cost-benefit created confusion and abandonment.
Approach
Hotjar and analytics analysis (exit rates, scroll behavior); netnography and competitive analysis; keyword and user-intent research (how to use, best value, what is red light therapy good for).
Solutions & Deliverables
New IA with clear categories; product listings emphasizing version differences; responsive column comparison layout (inspired by Apple and Dell patterns); visual size guide relating product dimensions to average body size; sections answering common questions; annotated Adobe XD prototype with detailed handoff instructions.
Results & Impact
Usability testing (5 participants) validated the redesign: easier product identification, clear version comparison, size confusion resolved, indicating strong potential to reduce drop-off.
